Created in collaboration with Sato Kiyomatsu Shoten, a long-established lacquer workshop in Kyoto’s historic Nishijin district,
this innovative tumbler brings traditional craftsmanship into modern life.

Using a refined adaptation of ancient heat-setting techniques, natural urushi lacquer is carefully applied to stainless steel—
a seamless fusion of heritage and innovation.

With its vacuum-insulated, double-wall structure, it offers excellent heat and cold retention.
The smooth mouthfeel unique to urushi, along with natural antibacterial properties and restorability,
makes it a timeless piece for both daily use and special gifting.

 

Each tumbler is finished by hand.
Due to the nature of natural lacquer and artisanal production, slight variations in color and texture may occur.

Usage & Care Instructions

  • Do not use in microwave ovens or conventional ovens.
  • Do not place in the freezer.
  • Keep out of reach of infants and young children.
  • Even if the exterior does not feel hot, the contents or drinking spout may be extremely hot. Please handle with care to avoid burns.
  • Do not leave contents inside the product for extended periods.
  • Keep away from open flames and high heat.
  • Do not leave the product soaking in hot or cold water for long periods.
  • Avoid exposing the product to direct sunlight or leaving it in high-temperature environments such as inside a car.
  • Do not scrub the surface forcefully, as it may damage the lacquer coating. Avoid dropping or applying strong impact to the product.
  • Do not use sharp objects, as they may cause scratches, peeling, or breakage.
  • Avoid using abrasive sponges, steel wool, or harsh cleansers that may scratch or strip the coating.
  • Do not use thinner, benzine, or chlorine-based bleach.
  • If using a dishwasher, place the product in a way that it does not bear weight or pressure.
  • To best preserve the quality, we recommend gentle handwashing with lukewarm water and a soft sponge, followed by wiping dry with a soft cloth.
  • Store in a cool, shaded place away from direct sunlight to prevent discoloration of the lacquer finish.
  • You may notice a natural lacquer scent, especially when the product is new or when filled with hot liquids. This is harmless and will fade over time with use.
  • In rare cases, individuals with sensitive skin may experience a reaction to lacquer. If irritation occurs, please consult a medical specialist.
  • Each product is handcrafted individually. Slight variations, such as uneven textures or brush marks, are part of the unique character of handmade craftsmanship and are not defects.
  • While we strive to present images that are as close as possible to the actual product, please note that the color may appear differently depending on your monitor settings or lighting conditions.
